Wake Up! Ministries

Bulambuli District has experienced catastrophic landslides, starting on the night of 28 August 2011, covering villages and killing families and children. This comes less than a year after about three hundred people were killed by landslides in the nearby Bududa region of Mount Elgon- highlighting the continued risks faced by rural communities. Wake Up ministries is active in supporting relief efforts and advocating for the needs of the rural poor. Reports from the press on this disaster can be found at:

One of the key ways Wake Up Ministries works is by organising sponsorship of poor and orphaned children. This enables children to attend good schools and to have all the materials they need for a quality education. By having regular financial support, these children can go through each year of school with confidence.
